We welcome you to Ryder Lake!  Come and explore our gardens, farms, woodland trails and the breathtaking natural beauty of the Ryder Lake area.  Ryder Lake is an upland country Community in the south east area of Chilliwack.  TO FIND US – Take exit 123 (Prest Rd.) South off Hwy #1 Left on Bailey Rd. Follow the signs to Ryder Lake Hall.   
                                               
 
Stop #1.   49977 Lookout Road – “Oversky” Explore the textures and shapes of this charming English country garden. Unusual botanical specimens flourish in this microclimate.  A haven for a large variety of wild birds.
 
Stop #2.  50120 Elk View RoadExplore 10 acres of woodland hillside including waterfalls & ponds.  Watch for wildlife such as herons and deer along shaded nature trails surrounded by spectacular mountain vistas.  Ideal bird watching location.
 
Stop #3.  4889 Haley RoadVisit artist studio to see mythological wood carvings by Butch Francis and nature photography by Kelly Francis.  Enjoy the amazing Celtic and world mythological carvings and gorgeous nature photography.
 
Stop #4.  49575 Elk View RoadEnjoy a stroll through a second growth forest to a secluded plantation of Siberian iris displaying all the colours of the rainbow. Ramble around hillside areas of astilbes, peonies, hostas, geraniums, grasses and various other perennials and shrubs.
 
Stop #5-a.  TICKET SALES  49265 Elk View Road – Ryder Lake Hall – Home-made muffins and cinnamon buns will be available in the morning with coffee and tea. A selection of gourmet soups, salads, breads, and luscious desserts will be available at the Ryder Lake Hall from 11:30-4, as well as hot dogs for the kids.  Public washrooms are available at this location.
 
Stop #5-b.  49265 Elk View Road –  Ryder Lake Ramble Plant Sale at the Ryder Lake Hall–  Visit the famous Ryder Lake Plant Sale for some fantastic deals on plants that have been  lovingly grown and donated by community members, and the Gwynne Vaughan Society!   The Ryder Lake plant sale has become an extremely popular and  important fundraiser for our precious, Ryder Lake Hall!   100% of the proceeds from the sales of these donated plants go towards the care and upkeep of the Ryder Lake Hall.  Many thanks to the Gwynne Vaughan Society and the many green thumbed gardeners who reside in Ryder Lake, for their generous plant donations!  Buy some healthy, well acclimatized plants, and support the Ryder Lake Hall!
 
Stop #6.  48951 Elk View Road – Saturday Only @ 3:00 pm  Get an inside view of what it takes to prepare a draft horse for a day’s work.  Demo of harnessing a Fjord horse.
 
Stop #7. TICKET SALES – 48180 Elk View Road – The Ryder Lake Llamas & Alpacas – Once again Ryder Lake Llamas & Alpacas will be open for everyone to experience the wonderful world of camelids.  This year you will see even more than before – more animals – more education – more entertainment.  Don’t forget your camera and the baby alpacas will be as cute as ever.  Leroy, Dolly and many others look forward to your visit to their farm.  Easily accessible for strollers and wheelchairs.  Spinning demo SATURDAY 11:00 – 4:00
 
Stop #8. 5500 Churchill Parkway– One of the most stunning views in Ryder lake.  At this stop you will find extensive alpine rockery gardens and trails with a unique gazebo on a rock promontory.  Don’t forget your camera, you’ll want a photograph of this shot;  a vista of the entire Ryder Lake area.
 
Stop #9. Mount Thom Park – Hike  Mt. Thom Park  for a spectacular view of Cultus Lake and much of the Fraser Valley!  Come and explore the newly upgraded trail system.  A 40 min round trip,  we recommend you save this stop until after 5:00 pm as sunsets are breathtaking from this viewpoint and unlike the Ryder Lake Ramble; Mount Thom Park is open from dawn to dusk 365 days a year!
 
Stop #10.  47644 – “RLDD Farm” Discover the joy and magic of exotic llamas and friendly miniature donkeys.  A much loved stop on the Ryder Lake Ramble trail where you will see many species of wild birds in an extensive arbour  garden of grapes, grape kiwi, wisteria, logan berries and golden raspberries.  Watch for several species of hummingbirds.
 
Stop #11. 4860 Southside Road– “Happy Hart Garden”  2.88 acres with hedged pathways through a large variety of shrubs and exotic trees, including rhodos, azaleas and japanese maples.  A mature, lovingly tended garden over a sloping hillside, surrounded by majestic mountain views.  Visit our kiosk where homemade soaps, artwork and some plants will be available  for sale.
 
Stop #12.  47340 Greenhill Road– “Greenhill Gardens” Hybridizer of unique and exotic daylilies.  Extensive gardens with spectacular views of Liumchen Valley.  Beautiful Daylilies will be available for sale! 
 
Stop #13. 47090 Greenhill Rd. – SATURDAY ONLY Be sure to visit “End of the Road Farm” a working sheep farm. Enjoy sheep, lambs, miniature goats, free range chickens, ducks, guinea fowl etc.  A MUST STOP FOR CHILDREN. Checkout the decorative metalwork kiosk and of course take time to enjoy the spectacular views and vantage points on this farm
