One of the Many Fabulous Ryder Lake Ramble Gardens

With Spring well underway in Ryder Lake, the gardeners out there have been busy for weeks.  All this great transplanting weather has been wonderful for our gardens.  Loads of little green volunteers, that have planted themselves in the wrong places are now being moved to where they should be, and many others are being potted up for the Annual Ryder Lake Ramble Plant Sale at the Hall during the Ryder Lake Ramble.

The 2010 Ryder Lake Ramble Schedule

Saturday June 12th – 10:00am to 5:00pm

Sunday June 13th – 12:00pm to 5:00pm

The plant sale raises considerable funds for the maintenance of the Hall, so we can use as many donations as possible.

Patrick and I have some very prolific yellow raspberries that we are donating this year.  The Raspberries are wonderful and sweet and they fruit from May to November.  We also have lots of many coloured lupins and columbine, Royal Crown scented cornflowers and much more.

The Gwynne Vaughan Society generously donates what is left over from their annual plant sale each year and in turn we provide them with a donation to their Scholarship Fund, in recognition of their generosity.

We can use plants of all sorts at the sale but if you are planting vegetable seeds this year, please plant some extra for the plant sale.  They are always very popular and they sell out every year.  We can also use donations of more pots please; 1 gallon and larger.  Patrick or I can pick them up, or you can add to our stack next to the barn, at the Forester Road address below.

If you have plants, but no extra soil, or pots; please let us know, and we’ll pick the plants up in bags and pot them ourselves.

We have one month until the sale – so time is ticking.  Let’s hope for a sunny weekend!  Thank you to everyone who has worked so hard to prepare for this year’s Ramble.

Please call or email if you have donations or questions.

Thanks
